The Northern Lights Dance Academy is comprised of two different programs, Traditional Irish Dance and Classical Ballet. Though these two are our main focus, we also offer contemporary/modern, young dancer classes, character dance, strength and conditioning, Drama club, summer camps and more. Though many students dance recreationally, we are not a recreational school. Our goal is to offer all students the opportunity to achieve their dreams and to move away from the common, recreational modal of dance studios in Northern Michigan.
We are a faith bases studio and our goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and family friendly environment. Our mission is to share our love through the beauty of dance and to have a positive impact on the community around us.
About the NLBA
The Northern Lights Ballet Academy Pre-Professional Ballet Program is designed for students who truly have a passion for dance, and have aspirations of dancing professionally post high school. Our goal is to give our local students a chance to grow and go as far as they desire in the field of dance. With low tuition costs, training from former professional dancers, and a family friendly environment, the NLBA is the perfect place for your aspiring ballet dancer!
Ballet classes are taught in the classical Vaganova Method. With ballet at the foundation and heart of the academy, dancers have the ability to build on top of proper technique, and training.
From the first day of class, to the first step out on stage, our desire is that our dancers find Joy & Confidence in all that they do.

About the NLIDA
The Northern Lights Irish Dance Academy is the premiere Irish Dance school in Northern Michigan. Our Irish dancers learn traditional technique, modern choreography, ceilis, Irish language, and an appreciation for this unique art form. We focus on performance and competing for both our recreational and serious, company dancers.

We offer Irish dance classes at our studio in Cadillac, McBain, and Charlevoix, and we have Le Cheile sister schools in Traverse City, Manistee, and Jackson.

In an Irish Dance class, your dancer will learn steps to solo dances and group dances (called Ceilis), rhythm, and Irish language. Irish Dance is much more than dance and each dancer will be challenged in many ways. The best part of Irish Dance is that at the end of a class you have something to show someone. It is progressive and each class brings you to a higher level. Your dancer will feel fulfilled and will enjoy sharing what they learned. We think those that love Irish, love it because of the sense of accomplishment they feel. There is always a clear path of what they will learn next.
