Goals of the Program:
- To help dance instructors become certified Traditional Irish Dance Teachers.
- To help instructors/dance schools create as successful, thriving program.
- To train instructors how to prepare students for competing (Feising) in Irish Dance.
- To provide traditional steps and learning materials to create well rounded students.
Getting Started:
We know that every teacher is on a distinct journey and comes from diverse backgrounds. Our program is created to be tailored to you and your needs. Please contact us at dance.nlida@gmail.com to find the best path forward for you!
This program is not created to be apart of a current studios general dance program, but to be a Traditional Irish Dance School within the studio. If you want grow an Irish Dance program and help your dancers become great Irish Dancers, classes need to be held in a traditional manner that is not the same as other styles held at a studio. Many dancers are looking to take Traditional Irish Dance, but are not getting that from Irish classes held within a studio’s program. By marketing yourself as a traditional Irish Dance School instead of a studio offering Irish, you will grow if you utilize our program.
Certifying Programs:
Teachers can certify in each level (starting with beginner, then primary, and eventually moving on to intermediate) in their own timing. We recommend that teachers start teaching the Beginning program and get certified as they go. After being certified in the Beginner program, then can work their way through primary along with their students. Teachers receive coaching on teaching practices, class breakdown, lesson planning, Feis (competition) prep, and so much more. Please contact us to find the best path forward for you.
Our goal is to be a support system for you and your program. We will do check ins with you (by phone or text) to encourage you and help you stay on track.

Preparing Your Students for Competition:
When your new school is interested in competing in a Traditional Irish Feis (competition) we offer one on one teacher classes or we can hold a workshop for your students to help prepare them. This can begin after learning the first group of steps. Feising (competing) is an integral part of growing your program and creating competent dancers with excellent technique. Irish Dance competitions are nothing like other dance competitions and are a wonderful subculture to be a part of. Once a dancer realizes that they love to compete, which most do, they will be loyal to your program.
